Sailing Ships
~ WhiteSnake

Do you remember
Standing on the shore,
Head in the clouds,
Your pockets filled with dreams
Bound for glory
On the seven seas of life,
But, the ocean is deeper than it seems

The wind was with you
When you left on the morning tide,
You set your sail for an island in the sun,
On the horizon, dark clouds up ahead,
For the storm has just begun

Take me with you,
Take me far away,
Lead me to the distant shore

Sail your ship across the water,
Spread your wings across the sky
Take the time to see
You're the one who holds the key,
Or sailing ships will pass you by

You cry for mercy,
When you think you've lost your way,
You drift alone, if all your hope is gone
So find the strength and you will see
You control, your destiny,
After all is said and done

So take me with you,
Take me far away,
An lead me to the distant shore

Sail your ship across the water,
Spread your wings across the sky
Take the time to see
You're the one who holds the key,
Or sailing ships will pass,
Sailing ships will pass you,
Sailing ships will pass you by...

Take me with you,
Take me far away,
Well ride the wind across the sky
Spread your wings and you will see
You control, your destiny,
So sailing ships don't pass you by

So take me with you,
Take me far away,
Well ride the wind across the sky
Spread your wings and you will see
You control, your destiny,
So sailing ships don't pass,
So sailing ships don't pass you,
So sailing ships don't pass you by...

Baby, baby, baby, baby,
You'll find that you're the only one
Can sail your ship across the sky

Sea Fever

Sea-Fever

I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

By John Masefield (1878-1967).
(English Poet Laureate, 1930-1967.)

Making Waves

Making Waves

I got me sturdy wooden boat tis' fix'd upon the night mist
Me prow's as hearty as me stern, tis' wax'd an primed for bliss
The stars be winkin in the skies an smooth as glass the waters be
So climb aboard me bonny lass and ye kin sail wit me.

Me ship of dreams will carry us to places nary seen afore
I'll hoist me sails intae the winds an steer between yon pearly shore.
I'll set adrift an run the tides an toss aboot a mighty gale
An rock ye to uncharted depths until the moon begins to pale.

As ocean breezes kiss yer lips and lift yer locks to fly aloft
An moonbeams dance upon yer skin wit fingers warm an feath'ry soft;
I'll take the helm and guide ye home and ease ye to a gentle swell
Until ye weep wit tender calm from all ye seen and all ye felt.

When tidal waves begin to stir an build to heights you canna bear
I'll shower lilting lullabies upon yer trembling form so fair.
We'll tumble neath the rolling foam to ancient rhythms of the sea,
Til mercy cries escape our lips an souls are soarin' wild an free.

I got me sturdy wooden boat tis' fix'd upon the night mist
Me prow's as hearty as me stern, tis' wax'd an primed for bliss
The stars be winkin in the skies an smooth as glass the waters be
So clim' aboard me bonny lass. Why don't ye sail wit me?

Butterfly Kisses

Butterfly Kisses

Your eyes bleed shadow rain
In dampened mists of pain.
Whispy lashes catch your sighs,
Smudges stain your almond eyes.

The fevered patterns of your frown
Belie a monarch neath a crown.
Your spirit throne could nae be found,
You ruled with scepter never bound.

My quest to find eternal bliss
Impaled by shadow's lofty kiss
Led ever on to journey's end.
A champion with naught to fend.

But had your favor come to me
I would have worshiped tirelessly
Your need to fly with timeless grace,
If only to caress your face.

I caught a butterfly today
Upon horizons far away
The jar contained the scent of you
Rising up in lover's dew

I pinned your wings beneath my lips,
Terrified you'd leave my grips
I never meant to spoil your flight
Despite my hold, I knew your plight.

Your pedestal has toppled down
Despite your scepter and your crown
And still I keep you soaring high
On winged beauty, in my sky.

Your wings are broken on the tide
Yet, my ship of dreams shall always glide
Upon your frown, your shadowed eyes,
Through mists of monarch butterflies.

Pearl of the Sea

Pearl of the Sea

One early dawn tucked away on a bright and distant horizon

The sun's rays will reach out to the long cold window of your soul eagerly caressing your silken cheek with new fire, ever craved and truly won.
The warmth will awaken you to loves sweet embrace and the tides will roll…

~~~~~
She sleeps beneath a briny pool with curtains drawn to hide the light
A veil of sadness shrouds her face, a crown of thorns adorns her head.
Blood red tears slip from her eyes to stain the lovely wings of white
Her dreams have all been cast away to nightmares in a lonely bed.
Her heart was never young awake. Age lines have marred her glowing skin.
So rarely laughter lit her face, her hollowed eyes preferred to close.
Few reached out to see her fly, the wizened soul so trapped within.
Now waves of timeless seas and sand have washed her cradle far below.
The clear blue surface of the sea shines like a mirror far above
Reflections skew and twist and blur whenever she does chance to gaze.
Storms increased. Tides rushed on. They swept away this broken dove.
The night set in, the waters rose and pinned her wings beneath the waves.
One day a weary sailor came to lift this angel from the seas.
He spied her through the murky depths
A fallen star was hard to miss.
His arms were strong, he swam for miles
His breath was full of ocean breeze.
He found the princess of the sea and gifted her with life's first kiss.
